Adua
“At Guild Siena I found my life again — and so much beauty around me.”
Adua is an open, sociable woman, full of joy. She loves spontaneous conversations, shared laughter, good company, and everything that brings beauty to life: places, people, new inspirations.
After a small aneurysm, her daughter was worried about leaving her alone. Adua was still completely independent and curious about the world, but she needed regular monitoring. And yet, none of the caregivers they tried could stay — not because Adua was difficult, but because she felt invaded: in her home, her rhythm, her intimacy.
So Adua arrived at Guild Siena in the summer of 2024, thinking she would stay only for a holiday of a few weeks. Very quickly, she found what she had been missing: people to talk to, activities that intrigued her, beauty to live every day, and above all a community that made her feel seen, welcomed, and never alone.
She formed a special bond with Renata, one of our Ambassadors. At the end of August she tried to return home… but after just a few days she realised that her true place was here: independent, yes, but surrounded by relationships, laughter and companionship.
Today, a year and a half later, Adua is still with us — a joyful and beloved part of the Guild Siena community.
Sociable and curious spirits like Adua always find something inspiring at Guild Siena: morning chats in the garden with our Ambassadors, creative workshops, live music afternoons and walks to discover the most beautiful corners of our city. And, above all, the simple joy of being among others — with the comforting feeling of never being alone.
