Guild Living submits plans for Epsom later living community.

L&G submits plans for Epsom later-living scheme

The 300-home project is the second Guild Living has submitted plans for, following its submission of plans for another in Bath last week. Guild also has a third scheme in Walton-on-Thames in consultation.

Similarly to its other schemes, proposals for the Epsom development also include a nursery and publicly accessible amenities such as a fitness centre, doctor’s surgery, restaurants and bars. The designs aim to integrate older generations into communities.

Subject to planning permission the scheme will have care available to its residents 24/7.

“We are committed to working closely with Epsom General Hospital to help improve the entire area for hospital staff, visitors and residents,” said Guild Living co-founder and director Eugene Marchese.

All the facilities we are planning – wellness facilities, cafes and social spaces – are designed to bring people together as we want to promote multi-generational living and not create the kind of retirement ghetto many people associate with traditional retirement living.”

Michael Eggington, co-founder and chief executive of Guild Living, added: “Britain is facing up to the reality that our ageing population and social care crisis means we have to do things differently and look at how we bring older people closer to us, helping them live healthier for longer.
